Students Explore Careers in Medicine

Several students from Penn-Trafford High School participated in a Medical Exploration Day in April.  They joined approximately 50 other high school students from Westmoreland County schools for the event organized by St Vincent College.

Some of the day’s activities included an exploration of the human anatomy cadaver lab led by adjunct professor Dr. Bisignani, hands-on exercises with the anatomage 3D imaging table for an in-depth view of body systems, a neuroscience activity recording brain wave reactions to different visual stimulation, and an interactive care simulation with the school's high-fidelity mannequins.

“Students benefited greatly from the interactive and in-depth encounter offered by St. Vincent College,” commented Penn-Trafford gifted teacher, Mrs. Wukich.  “The school provided an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about medical technology and procedures, setting future college coursework expectations.”
