High School Classroom Receives Oven

The Independent Living classes at Penn-Trafford High School can go beyond just learning about healthy foods… they can now prepare foods too in the new classroom oven.

Through a grant from the Penn-Trafford Community Education Foundation, teachers Mrs. Siniawski and Mrs. Cuccaro received nearly $900 to purchase the range-top oven.  “Students are learning about foods and health using www.choosemyplate.gov as a reference,” said Siniawski.   “A recent lab was tortilla pizzas; the students could prep and cook with their partner and enjoy this healthy snack!”
